+What does the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) mean for me?

The Energy Price Guarantee will ensure that a typical household in Great Britain pays an average of £2,500 a year on their energy bill until April 2023. This Energy Bill Guarantee limits the amount you can be charged per unit of gas or electricity so your exact saving will be influenced by how much energy you consume. The level of discount people receive also depends on people’s tariff price. From April 2023 to April 2024 government is capping energy at £3,000.

The most vulnerable customers will also continue to receive £1,200 of support provided in instalments. Other financial support, like the Warm Home Discount, will continue. An additional discretionary fund will be available for those households who are outside of the schemes. For example, households not on standard gas / electricity contracts.
